Rycott Foodservice is a Canadian family owned and operated food service distribution company located in the heart of Southern Ontario. In January 2010 Rycott will be celebrating 30 years of food service distribution, from inception the owners John and Charlie Ricottone have maintained their motto that "customer service has and always will be Rycott's number one focus"
Although famous for the quality of our Halibut and unparalleled service to the Fish and Chip industry, Rycott's product line has grown over the years to include a full line of quality national brand name products. Product offerings include fresh and frozen meats, poultry, dairy products, fresh and frozen produce, desserts, frozen breads, eggs, dry grocery items, cleaning supplies and paper goods. Have an emergency? Within two hours you can pick up an order at the Rycott distribution centre in Stoney Creek, any time from 8:30am - 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.
Rycott is considered a small to midsize distributor in the Ontario Foodservice market. Having noted this Rycott Foodservice takes pride in working closely with independently owned and operated restaurants, our efforts are focused on the independent restaurateur not on large chain accounts. This allows Rycott Sales representatives to focus on your specific needs.
Rycott has a fleet of 8 state of the art temperature zoned trucks. Our drivers are uniformed and are equipped with mike/cell phones. At any time they can be in direct contact with your Rycott sales rep, with a member of the management team, with the owners or with our warehouse staff, within moments any situation that may arise can and will be resolved.

All Rycott sales representatives are equipped with mike/cell phones and laptop computers with air cards - they are always in contact with the office, warehouse, drivers and vendors, real time inventories and pricing.
All Rycott sales representatives are given extensive product training, each Friday Rycott sales representatives meet to discuss sales relationship building, market conditions, and market trends, as well as participating in 3 vendor demonstrations teaching Rycott reps about, new products, flavour trends.
Rycott sales representatives have all under gone extensive training in Centre of the Plate products, and each has been certified by the Ontario Beef Board. Their training includes product knowledge, as well as helping you the restaurateur to price out and determine profitability of your dishes.
Each Rycott Sales representative has passed the basics.fst food safety training course and has received certification. They have been trained in food safety handling, food borne illnesses and the importance of sanitation in a restaurant.
Rycott sales representatives are not "order takers" they have been trained as experts in their fields to guide and support you with your purchasing, menu, pricing and staffing requirements.

Rycott foodservice can offer you very competitive pricing, we don't have the high overhead of larger distributors, we run a lean mean machine, we have on staff our own graphic artist that is able to produce our own flyers, invitations, business cards and other promo materials, we do it all.

In 1976, Charles Ricottone Sr. and his sons, John and Charlie Jr. founded Seven Seas Fresh Fish Market. A constant demand from local Fish & Chip restaurants for quality fish fillets, lead them to believe that there was a niche to be filled for a local distributor of seafood products. It was then that Rycott Wholesale Foods Inc. was born.
Today we operate on a much larger scale - from a 50,000 square foot warehouse. Yes, we still offer great quality seafood. In fact, we are the largest distributor of whole halibut in North America. Our product line has grown over the years to include a full line of quality, national brand name products like fresh and frozen meats, poultry, dairy products, eggs, dry grocery items, cleaning supplies and paper goods. In July 1999 we became a member of Associated Food Distributors, one of Canada's largest distributor buying groups. As a result, our increased buying power allows us to offer very competitive prices on many products from some of Canada's best manufacturers.
A Canadian owned and operated company, Rycott has come a long way from our early days as a fresh fish market. But we've never lost sight of the value of good service and competitive prices. Our customers appreciate that.
